Getting Started

Visit our store with your foreign currency and valid identification. Our trained staff will verify and count your currency in front of you, apply our competitive exchange rate, and provide you with South African Rand immediately. The entire process typically takes 5-10 minutes, and you’ll receive a detailed receipt showing the exchange rate used and amount converted.

We accept most major currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, CHF, JPY, and many more. We handle most denominations of banknotes in good condition, and we process coins but not severely damaged notes. The minimum exchange amount is R500 worth of foreign currency. For amounts over R50,000, we may require additional documentation and advance notice. Please call ahead for large currency exchanges to ensure we have sufficient Rand available and can provide the best possible service.

Pricing & Rates

We use live international exchange rates with a transparent margin . Our rates are updated multiple times daily during business hours.  You can see our rates before completing any transaction no surprises or hidden fees.

We accept most current legal tender banknotes in good condition. For discontinued currencies (such as old EUR notes or outdated designs), we evaluate each case individually and may apply a small verification fee due to additional processing requirements. Bring questionable notes in for assessment, we’re happy to advise you at no charge.

Security & Process

All currency verification and counting happens in front of you. We are trained in currency authentication and use professional verification equipment. We maintain comprehensive security systems including CCTV recording and secure cash handling procedures. Your transaction is completed immediately with no currency leaving your sight until payment is made.

Most currency exchanges are completed in 5-10 minutes. This includes currency verification, counting, rate calculation, and payment in Rand. For larger amounts or multiple currencies, allow up to 15 minutes. We recommend calling ahead for exchanges over R20,000 to ensure optimal service.

As a registered financial services provider, we require valid South African identification for all transactions. Bring your South African ID book/card or valid passport. For transactions over R5,000, we may require additional verification such as proof of address. This ensures compliance with South African financial regulations and protects both parties.

Service & Location

No appointment necessary for most exchanges. We operate on a walk-in basis during business hours. However, for large exchanges over R20,000 or unusual currencies, we recommend calling ahead to ensure we can provide optimal service and have sufficient Rand available.

Absolutely! Bring all your foreign currencies and we’ll handle multiple exchanges in a single visit. Each currency will be processed separately with its current exchange rate clearly shown. You’ll receive one comprehensive receipt showing all exchanges and receive the total Rand amount at once.

Payment & Verification

Payment is made immediately in cash (Rand banknotes) at our counter. For your security and ours, exchanges over R10,000 can be paid by electronic transfer to your bank account if you prefer, which processes the same day. We can also issue a bank-guaranteed cheque for very large amounts with advance notice.

All counting is done transparently in front of you at our counter. If you disagree with our count, we’ll recount together until we reach agreement. Our staff are experienced professionals, but customer satisfaction is our priority. Any discrepancies are resolved immediately before payment is made.
